Food Safe Filaments

Although there is an ongoing discussion as to how "safe" plastic filaments are once they have been "extruded" from a 3D Desktop printer.  There are several manufatured filaments that have been classified as food friendly by the US Food and Drug administration Bureau/Service and other awarding bodies across the globe.  Please always check the relevant product page for details on food safe or food acceptable classifications.
 
 
Fillamentum CPE (co-polyester) is a high-technical material for the FFF (also known as FDM) 3D printing technology. A super chemical resistant filament, prefect for prototyping.  Classified as food acceptable.
 
 
PP is an easy to print general purpose low density Polypropylene. PP has high stretch ability, decent flexibility and chemical/fatigue resistance makes it suitable for a variety of household articles and containers. Dishwasher proof.
 
 
 
FilaPrint PET-G poly(ethylene terephthalate) - is glycol modified PET filament (a polymer resin of the polyester family).  If you do not wish to print with ABS and need a filament that is both strong, impact resistant and durable, even for the most demanding applications.  Food safe accpetable trials underway.
 
 
 
 
t-glase by taulman 3D is made from the highest optical quality PETT material.  Unlike other polymers, some PETT, including t-glase are not considered “transparent”.  Instead, it belongs to a group of polymers that are considered “colorless” and or “colorless with a percentage of reflectivity”.  t-glase is also considered “water-clear” and “optically correct”.  The filament comes in a variety of colours including clear, available in 1.75mm & 2.85/3mm.
 
 
guidel!ne is a unique high strength PETG based material with excellent high temperature printing capabilities.   Users know that printing small features of some parts can be difficult due to thermal build-up.  guidel!ne is much less susceptible to these thermal issues allowing for finer detail without distortion.  guidel!ne is also released as a starting point for individuals and companies wishing to obtain eventual FDA/CE certification for a device knowing that the raw material itself is listed with the FDA and has already passed specific FDA testing. This material can also be used as a support material when dual printing with Nylons.
