ABS-X
Overview
Strong and robust. Heat and chemical resilient. An Inexpensive choice for engineering-grade prints.
ABS-X is a modified version of ABS – The filament contains additives which help printability by preventing warping and having reliable bed adhesion. Unlike standard ABS, ABS-X can be printed without an enclosure, while still retaining the high strength and durability that the standard ABS is known for.
This Material has exceptional durability and is perfect for printing moving parts and weight-bearing parts. Under extreme amounts of pressure and stress, objects printed in ABS-X tend to lightly bend and flex rather than shattering and snapping. ABS-X has decent chemical sustainability, making it resilient to sunlight, moisture, acids, and oils. Printed parts can be polished with acetone, giving them a smooth and glossy finish and hiding layer lines. When printing with this material, it is possible that toxic fumes are produced. This can be circumvented by printing In a well-ventilated area or using an extractor.
Used for: Injection moulding, LEGO, electronic casings, automotive parts.
