Description

We love the world of 3D printing and the opportunities that it can bring to so many people, businesses and education.  Though we are also mindful of the increased use of plastic materials created by this amazing technology.  So when we are given the chance to offer our valued customers the choice of New and Recycled 3D printing materials, we jump at the chance. Please note there will be a change over to the new cardboard spools for this material in the months ahead.

Mitsubishi Chemical Corp are one of the worlds largest polymer based 3d filament manufacturers with a focus on high (OEM) quality filaments and the development of new innovative materials for 3D printing based on FDM and / or FGF technology.  It is this great company that have now brought us the new PIPG.

recycled Post Industrial Pet-G has been created from the waste of previous filament processing, balancing the time, money and industrial energy it takes to produce this 100% recycled material.

This 100% recycled PETG material PIPG, prints on the majority of 3D Desktop printers, with pretty much the same settings, though you may need to turn down fans during the 3D printing process, if you are experiencing de lamination or extrusion issues.  Other than a reduction in fan speed, all other parameters are similar to the printing of regular PETG filaments.

Overview

A versatile middle ground between PLA and ABS.

PET-G Is stronger than PLA but easier to print with than ABS. The glycol in this material makes the filament less brittle and resistant to water, chemicals, and solvents. It is naturally clear, making it the go-to filament for translucent prints.
The strength and durability of a PET-G filament vary depending on the brand. An easy way to check if one PET-G is stronger than another is by comparing the tensile strength value of each filament. If printed in a sterile, FDA-approved environment, PET-G can be used to create food-safe prints.

Due to its strong and durable nature, PET-G can be difficult to finish with post-processing methods such as sanding. Prints may also be difficult to paint or glue together. Depending on printer and slicer settings, you may experience small hairs over the surface of prints caused by stringing. These can be removed with a heat gun or lighter.

Used for: Water Bottles, Plant Pots.
