Description
We all love to 3D print, like us you may have 3D printing “to do lists” that are longer than our arms. Lists that keep growing every time we visit our favourite 3D printing website, webapge or 3D model download repository. So often we come across amazing innovative 3D creations that we just have to print.
Then we have the conundrum of the plastic materials which are being used in the creation of these amazingly designed models. We do not want to be printing for the sake of it, or adding to the plastic waste that is accumulating across our planet. Yet in the same instance, 3D printing in some cases can actually reduce the amount of plastics being created for the consumer market. Products that can be produced in smaller numbers rather than large batches can be produced with 3D Desktop printing and this is one of several reasons why we are excited to be able to offer you the new FilaPrint rePLAy recycled 3D printing filament.
PLA is one of the mainstay filaments in use today, as it is easy to print and more often than not probably one of the cheapest too. It can be printed on almost every 3D desktop printer available. It is manufactured by every 3D filament manufacturer on our planet today and as 3D printer prices have lowered considerably over the past 2/3 years and machine reliability becomes the norm, more PLA will be required.
FilaPrint rePLAy offers you the opportunity to work with a material that is identical in printing characteristics as regular PLA, though from a recycled waste stream, which on average is >97% recycled.
The only difference you will find with this recycled PLA is that the colours (not Black or White) are not as bright as the same colour though non-recycled PLA filaments which are available on our store. However the recycling process does give them a unique hue.
Please note: As this is a fully recycled material there may be times when the FilaPrint rePLAy is not available, or there may be a longer lead time for restock, due to the manufacturer not having as much filament waste to recycle. Hope this makes sense!. In other words when the manufacturer has PLA PLASTIC waste to turn into 3D printing filaments we will have it available on our store!
