Description
FibreX 30% Glass Fibre Reinforced Polypropylene (PP) 3D Filament FibreX PP GF30 is made using a speciality formulated 30% glass fibre reinforced polypropylene copolymer that we created specifically for 3D printing. Our formulation offers improved thermal properties and lower shrinkage & warp compared to competitive PP-based compounds. This PP-GF30 is ideal when you need improved strength, stiffness, impact, dimensional stability, chemical resistance and high thermal properties. It’s really a game changer for industrial applications. Our PP-GF30 allows you to create real-world functional parts and prototypes for a wide array of applications in automotive, tooling (fixtures/jigs), appliances, sporting goods, and practically any industrial application that would benefit from an engineering-grade composite material. GF30 Polypropylene Attributes:
- Does not absorb moisture – no drying needed
- High heat resistance [Heat Distortion Temp rating of 139?C]
- Superior dimensional stability due to low shrinkage, low warp, and no moisture uptake]
- Excellent chemical resistance [See list below]
- High strength and stiffness even after exposure to humidity [moisture absorption reduces thermal resistance of many polymers]
- Ease of printing – suitable for use on practically any 3D printer with a heated print bed
Chemical Resistance: Acids: Acetic, Boric, Hydrochloric, Phosphoric, Stearic, Sulfuric, Uric Bases: Hydroxides of Ammonium, Barium, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium Solvents: Acetone, Ethanol, MEK, Phenol (10%), Water Please Note: Chemical resistance information is for the base resin used in our formulation and customers are encouraged to test their parts to determine fitness for any particular use. Abrasive: Glass fibre reinforced filaments are abrasive and will easily wear out a brass nozzles. We highly recommend Hardened Steel Nozzles when printing with glass fibre materials. Recommended Print Conditions: Extruder: 240-270?C depending on printer Bed Temp: 80-110?C Hardened Nozzle: 0.4mm or larger. We strongly recommend Hardened Steel Nozzles. Layer Height: Ideal layer height is 60% of nozzle diameter. We do not recommend printing layers below 0.25mm with carbon fibre grades. Lower than 0.25mm may create too much back pressure in the hot end and result in poor feeding, jams, drive gear clicking, and eating a notch into the filament.
