Description

PA cast Plate Nylon High Strength 95MPA, High temperature 110C HDT

NOTE:  The best tip for printing our Nylons is “Dry, Dry, Dry”  It is moisture in the line that expands between non-print moves that forces a small amount of material out of the nozzle.  Dry the filament for at least 7 hours at 60c-70c before printing, even it is brand new.  Then make sure you keep is stored in a dry container when you have finished printing and then dry again before actually printing..

Temperature NOTE for Nylons:
The number one issue we see from printer to printer is the “Displayed” nozzle temperature versus the “Actual” temperature with a bias toward most units printing too cold. Nylons can print at 275C,   If there is any layer bonding issue with your print, please do not hesitate to increase print temp.

Taulman3Ds PA Cast Plate is a High strength poly-amide that uses manufacturing techniques similar to Nylon industrial plates. Casting Nylon in dies is a unique process that usually requires a difference in the manufacturing of the base polymer.

While there are some cast Nylons that will be used as is, the majority are destined for subtractive/tooling/CNC machining. For this type of machining, a high and consistent tensile strength is required. Taulman3D has worked with our Chemical Company to develop this type of Nylon into a 3D Printing line thus bringing with it an exceptionally high tensile of 95MPA or over 13,500PSI.

The result is taulman3Ds PA (Polyamide) Cast Plate.

Nylon

Overview

Highly durable, flexible material.

Nylon has high impact and abrasion resistance; offering a high amount of tensile strength whilst also being a flexible material. It is one of the most heat-stable filaments, remaining unchanged in high temperature environments.

It is hygroscopic, meaning that the filament will absorb moisture easily which will cause prints to warp and fail. This can be circumvented by keeping the filament in an air-tight, dry environment. Nylon can warp easily; depending on the printer and slicer used, some trial and error may be needed to prevent this. Printed items will degrade from UV radiation if left in sunlight for long periods of time.

Used for: Gears, Screws, and Cable ties.

Some manufacturers provide PA6 & PA12 Nylons, PA12 has increased moisture stability and is more resistant to moisture absorption. The same applies to Nylon 66 compared to Nylon 6.
