PolyMide PA6-GF 500gms is a glass fibre reinforced PA6 (Nylon 6) filament. The material exhibits excellent thermal and mechanical properties without sacrificing the layer adhesion.

PolyMide PA6-GF is a glass fibre reinforced Nylon (PA6) that offers outstanding mechanical properties, namely, impact strength and stiffness. The material exhibits excellent thermal and mechanical properties without sacrificing the layer adhesion. PolyMide PA6-GF can be used to print parts working in a wide temperature range and has been utilised to create custom lab equipment working at temperatures as low as -190°c. PolyMide PA6-GF has been used to create cryo boxes which study elements at extremely cold temperatures. These cryo boxes are used for cryogenically cooling the diamond tips until theyre cold enough to condense samples on, either as a solid or a liquid depending on the specimen element. PolyMide PA6 GF features Polymaker’s Warp-Free technology and Fiber Adhesion technology: Warp-Free technology enables the production of Nylon-based filaments that can be 3D printed with excellent dimensional stability and near-zero warp. This is achieved by the fine control of microstructure and crystallisation behaviour of Nylon, which enables the material to fully release the internal stress before solidification. Fiber Adhesion Technology improves the layer adhesion of fibre reinforced materials, by optimising the surface chemistry of the fibers to achieve better dispersion and bonding to the polyamide matrix. This results in better strength along the Z-axis and reduced mechanical anisotropy when compared to a pure Nylon PA6 printed parts. This in-house technology was developed exclusively to combat the problem of adding fibers to filaments. All other brand fibre reinforced materials show a decrease in z-axis layer adhesion when compared with their non-fibre reinforced Nylons producing a part that is only stronger on the X-Y axis but detrimental to the Z axis. Polymakers new technology not only solves this problem but actually increases Z axis tensile strength creating more isotropic parts that are strong in every direction. Working in collaboration with a German manufacturer of high-performance polymers, and are designed to contain specific properties for use in a variety of industries, like automotive, aerospace and electronics.

General Printing Settings Print Temperature Range: 280 300 °c Recommended 3D print speed: 60 mm/s Bed temperature: 25C 50C (Do NOT exceed 50 C)

Cooling fan should be OFF. Heat Deflection Temperature (ISO 75 1.8 MPa): 124 C Heat Deflection Temperature (ISO 75 0.45 MPa): 191 C Melting Temperature: 220 (°c) Notes: Carbon Fibre is abrasive when using a standard brass nozzle.  Please use a hardened steel nozzle if printing with Carbon Fibre infused filaments. Recommended support filament Polydissolve S1 Drying settings: 80C for 12 hours. Due to the filament stiffness this product is only available on 2Kg spools. Build platform: The PolyMax 3D printing filament works well with the majority of 3D printer surfaces, including a thin layer of PVA glue. Nylon

Overview

Highly durable, flexible material.

Nylon has high impact and abrasion resistance; offering a high amount of tensile strength whilst also being a flexible material. It is one of the most heat-stable filaments, remaining unchanged in high temperature environments.

It is hygroscopic, meaning that the filament will absorb moisture easily which will cause prints to warp and fail. This can be circumvented by keeping the filament in an air-tight, dry environment. Nylon can warp easily; depending on the printer and slicer used, some trial and error may be needed to prevent this. Printed items will degrade from UV radiation if left in sunlight for long periods of time.

Used for: Gears, Screws, and Cable ties.

Some manufacturers provide PA6 & PA12 Nylons, PA12 has increased moisture stability and is more resistant to moisture absorption. The same applies to Nylon 66 compared to Nylon 6.
