Food Safe/FDA Approved
1.17 Please be aware that while food contact approval pertains to the filament used in 3D printing, official food safety compliance is solely determined by the finished product. It is important to take into account the various factors involved in the 3D printing process, including materials, settings, temperature, and the printer itself, before creating any products intended for food use.
Although the printer is a crucial component of the 3D printing process and is subject to compliance regulations for the final product, there are currently no established standards for FDM/FFF 3D printing that dictate which combination of materials, printer, and settings will guarantee official food contact compliance. Different countries may have their own regulations and guidelines (such as FDA compliance, EU 10/2011, BfR), so it is recommended that you consult with your local government or regulatory agency to determine the applicable standard.
